We need people to test by playing.
To facilitate testing, we have implemented some special modes of operation:
1. Any user can make the next move. allowing one person to take the role of two or even three players. This has temporarily been allowed so that a single person on line can play, or two or three players can play from the same location.
2. Play moves are still recorded, but in this testing phase they will not be kept by the computer to allow later restart or continuation of a given game.
How to test play?
The computer keeps track of players (and this will eventually allow computation of player rankings or ratings, as in two-way chess). To test this aspect of the software, you must register as a player. On line you can use an alias (current names in use include “bat” and “cat”)
3WC-online uses L.U.I.E. (listen update internet engine) to coordinate the game boards and the database. Currently, Luie is set to allow a maximum of 12 users on line at a time, in order to save bandwidth. The prototype of 3WC-online is on a special development site Datajug.com.
The On-Line play function is still in “Theta Testing” stage, so please place your game reports in the 3wc-online forum, or send to dave@datajug.com.
